Calf to Cow Pathway
“Strong Calf Today, Strong Cow Tomorrow.”
At Mahi Foods Industries, we believe that the foundation of a high-performing dairy animal begins at an early stage. Our Calf-to-Cow Pathway is scientifically designed to ensure proper growth, strong body structure, better immunity, and early reproductive maturity.
This pathway focuses on developing the animal from a young calf into a healthy, productive cow—maximizing lifetime performance and profitability for farmers.
Stage 1: Calf Starter (Day 10 – 120)
Purpose
To support rapid growth, early weight gain, and proper rumen development during the most critical stage of life.
Key Benefits
- Easy to digest formulation for young calves
- High-quality protein for strong muscle development
- Strengthens immunity and disease resistance
- Supports early body weight gain
- Ensures fast and healthy rumen development
Feeding Guidance
- Start feeding from 10 days of age
- Begin with 50 grams per day
- Increase gradually by 250 grams per week
- Reach 1 kg per day by 6 weeks
- Continue feeding up to 120 days
Important Note
Calves must be fed mother’s milk for a minimum of 45 days, at approximately 10% of their body weight daily, to ensure proper immunity and early development.
Stage 2: Heifer Feed (After 4 Months)
Purpose
To ensure optimal body development, strong reproductive health, and timely maturity.
Key Benefits
- Provides essential vitamins and minerals
- Builds strong immunity
- Supports reproductive system development
- Promotes proper skeletal and frame growth
- Prepares the animal for healthy conception
Feeding Guidance
- Start with 2 kg per day
- Increase by 250 grams per week
- Maintain at 4 kg per day
Final Outcome
By following the Calf-to-Cow Pathway consistently, the animal develops into a strong, healthy heifer ready for conception at 15–18 months of age.
This leads to:
- Early maturity
- Improved reproductive efficiency
- Higher lifetime milk yield
- Better overall farm profitability
Pregnancy Pathway
“Scientific Nutrition for Early Calving & Healthy Mothers.”
The transition from pregnancy to lactation is one of the most critical phases in a dairy animal’s life. At Mahi Foods Industries, our Pregnancy Pathway is scientifically designed to support the animal before and after calving—ensuring a healthy mother, strong calf, and smooth transition into milk production.
This pathway focuses on balanced nutrition, mineral management, reproductive recovery, and metabolic stability during the dry and transition periods.
Pathway Overview
This program is divided into two specialized nutritional solutions:
1. MAHI Runner Dry
For Dry Period (90 Days Pre-Calving)
2. MAHI Transition Feed
For Transition Phase (20–25 Days Before & After Calving)
Stage 1: Dry Period Nutrition (90 Days Before Calving)
Purpose
To prepare the animal for calving by maintaining body condition, strengthening rumen health, and ensuring proper nutrient reserves.
Key Benefits
- Maintains healthy rumen function
- Provides essential macro and micro nutrients
- Improves and maintains Body Condition Score (BCS)
- Reduces negative energy balance
- Prepares the animal for upcoming milk production
- Supports rumen microbial adaptation for higher energy demands
- Ensures higher mineral and vitamin availability
Feeding Guidance
- Start with 2.5 kg per day
- Increase gradually by 250 grams
- Maintain up to 3.5 kg per day
Stage 2: Transition Phase Nutrition
(MAHI Transition Feed) This stage is crucial for smooth calving, metabolic balance, and post-calving recovery.
Pre-Calving (25 Days Before Calving)
Purpose
To prepare the animal for safe and smooth delivery while building nutrient reserves.
Key Benefits
- Supports smooth calving process
- Builds essential mineral and vitamin reserves
- Helps prevent metabolic diseases (like milk fever, ketosis)
- Strengthens immunity during the critical period
Feeding Guidance
- Feed 3 kg per day
Post-Calving (25 Days After Delivery)
Purpose
To support recovery, maintain feed intake, and initiate strong milk production.
Key Benefits
- Maintains Dry Matter Intake (DMI)
- Prevents post-calving metabolic disorders
- Supports faster internal recovery after delivery
- Helps initiate and sustain milk production
- Maintains body strength and structure
Feeding Guidance
- Feed 4 kg per day
Why Increased Feeding Post-Calving?
After calving, the cow undergoes major physiological changes:
- She has delivered a calf
- Her body requires internal healing
- Milk production begins immediately
- Nutritional demand increases significantly
This is why Mahi increases feed by 1 kg during the post-calving phase—to ensure optimal recovery and performance.
Final Outcome
By following the Pregnancy Pathway, farmers can ensure:
- Smooth and stress-free calving
- Healthier calves at birth
- Faster recovery of the mother
- Reduced risk of metabolic diseases
- Strong start to lactation and improved milk yield
Lactation Pathway
“Right Feed = Right Milk = Right Profit.”
Milk production is the most important and demanding phase in a dairy animal’s lifecycle. The Lactation Pathway by Mahi Foods Industries is carefully designed to maximize milk yield, maintain animal health, and ensure long-term productivity.
This pathway focuses on high energy nutrition, sustained milk production, body condition maintenance, and reproductive efficiency, helping farmers achieve better returns with every litre of milk.
Pathway Overview
The Lactation Pathway is structured to support animals throughout the milk production cycle by ensuring:
- Balanced nutrition for high milk yield
- Consistent energy supply
- Improved digestion and feed efficiency
- Maintenance of body condition and health
